AI in creator media kits: documented functions, untested uses and the human release decision
Creator media kits AI applications for England: distinguish documented drafting and layout functions from untested portfolio uses and required human checks.
What to take away
- Canva documents Magic Write for drafting and revising text, and Magic Design for suggesting templates from supplied content.
- Neither is documented to produce better kits or more enquiries, and no generated text, layout or receiving file was produced for this research.
- Name one reviewer before drafting starts, and keep facts, rights and privacy checks separate from the design check.
- Use AI for wording alternatives and layout trials on material you already own, with source facts stored beside the draft.
The release decision, taken before drafting
A media kit is a commercial document, so decide who approves it before any text is written. Give that person the source material, the proposed wording and the format the brand will receive.
Ask them to record unsupported additions, lost qualifications and unresolved rights questions. A design check and a factual check answer different questions, and both need a named owner.
Our approved kit workflow shows how a reviewed version travels from a requested change to delivery without the record going missing.
Documented functions and untested uses
Canva's AI writing assistant page describes Magic Write drafting and revising text. The table separates documented functions from uses this article has not tested.

Proposed use, not tested here
- Magic Write drafts and revises copy

- Testing a layout for authorised samples and captions
- Editable hosted kit pages
- Publishing the reviewed version as a page
Source review date: 6 September 2026. Nothing in those pages shows that these functions produce better kits or more enquiries.

Drafting as five numbered steps
- Collect the source facts firstdates, campaign names and audience figures with the period they cover.
- Paste that approved text into the tool and ask for alternative wording, not new claims.
- Compare every returned sentence with the source and delete anything the source cannot support.
- Store the draft and the source in one file so the reviewer sees both side by side.
- Approve the wording, then export in the format the recipient requested.
Example: a flagged biography line
Source: I made 14 branded videos for UK skincare brands between January and June 2026. Draft: I have partnered with leading UK skincare brands on 14 campaigns, reaching millions.
Three things changed. "Leading" is unsupported, "reaching millions" adds a figure with no source, and the date range has disappeared. Send the line back for wording that matches the source.
Copyright and permission checks before upload
GOV.UK copyright guidance explains permission routes and permitted use. It cannot settle whether one particular upload is lawful, so check the asset and the applicable terms.
List who supplied each image, clip or sample and what authority supports its use. Never present generated material as proof that the creator produced a work sample. Keep decorative images distinct from the work being represented.
Personal data and inferred detail
The ICO's AI accuracy guidance separates personal-data accuracy from statistical model accuracy and covers inputs and outputs. An invented biography detail is not verified personal information.
The Data (Use and Access) Act changed parts of this area, so confirm the current position before any upload. Ask what data the task needs and who receives it.
Our guide to personal information the kit needs covers what an England-based creator can leave out.
Advertising claims still need evidence
CAP's misleading-advertising section requires substantiation and qualifications for objective claims within remit. Generated wording is not evidence of achievements, audience or past partnerships.
Compare proposed text with its source before it enters a promotional kit. Keep the period and scope of any supported figure. If a shorter sentence changes the meaning, revise it or drop it.
Common questions
Do the documented functions prove AI kits perform better?
No. Canva documents drafting and template suggestions, but the documentation shows no better kits or more enquiries, so performance claims stay withheld.
Can AI wording support a creator's advertising claims?
No. CAP's provisions require documentary substantiation for objective claims. Generated text cannot stand in for evidence about achievements, audience or partnerships.
Which tools are documented for a media kit?
Canva's Magic Write and Magic Design are documented, and hosted builders such as Beacons publish editable kit pages. Documentation covers functions, not results.
What does the named reviewer sign off?
Facts, rights and privacy, plus a separate design check. They record unsupported additions, lost qualifications and unresolved questions before release.
